Christmas Gift Guide for Girls
Intentional Gift Giving
We are really intentional with what we give our kids, and each other, for gifts (both Christmas and birthdays!) every year. We typically don’t buy toys or extra things during the year, so we want this time to be special, but also not add a lot of extra flush or plain junk.
Space for Creativity, Beauty, & Quality over Quantity
Considering we’re a family of 7, we live in a rather small house of around 1100 sq ft, so we really don’t have room for “extra” or large quantities of toys, or stuff, in general! To keep my own sanity and overstimulation under control, everything has to have a place in our home and big things are often just off the table unless they can “live” outside ;)
Creativity, beauty, and quality (things that will last) are also big priorities for us when thinking about gifts. If you know me, you know, I don’t like to waste my money on junk that’s going to break within a couple of days. No thanks! And I have a deep, deep appreciation for beauty and natural materials. Most of what you’ll find here isn’t flashy, crazy colorful and overstimulating, sparkly, or noisy and minimally electronic. Many items have an emphasis on open ended play or creativity. These are things we’ve found our kids going back to throughout the entire year so there isn’t a need for “extra” toys in other months to keep them content. Less truly is more!
With that in mind, I’ve wrangled up some of our favorite gifts we’ve given over the years (or have in the line up for this year, so shhhh don’t show my kids!)

03. Maileg Tricycles
These Maileg mice have been a huge hit for our family, boys and girls alike. You can often find little mice friends at the breakfast table, snuggled up in a child’s hand at bed time, climbing a tree and dangling from a thin branch next to a child, or cozied up in their perfectly “decorated” mouse houses.
We love these for so many reasons!
they are small - major perk for small spaces!
heirloom quality -we’ll be keeping these or sending to pass down to our children’s babies some day!
practice domesticity and decorating skills on a sweet small scale.
“play practice” skills are encouraged like getting dressed in clothing, making style swaps that match and look good (without them being Barbies!)
open ended play as they often find themselves creating their own little imaginary worlds with these mice where ever they go!
04. Hope Haven Little Homes These are the perfect little “home” for Maileg mice. We absolutely love the open ended play and interior design skills that the girls are building while playing with these. They are constantly rearranging furniture, adding home made backdrops, and all the mice accessories to create cozy corners for their mice to live and play. We have had these for 3 years and they still get used often!
05. Loré Pemberton Mini Puzzles These puzzles are truly pieces of art! I love that my girls get to immerse themselves in the warm tones and beautiful imaginations of the talented Loré Pemberton while focusing their minds on finishing a quick puzzle. They do these over, and over again because they are so captivating!
06. Branch Journal - This is a sweet little gratitude Journal that also includes a yearly calendar - perfect for a fresh start to the New Year and encourages our girls to be thankful and plan their days with intention.
07. Blossoms Girls Growing in Virtue is our once a month bible study for mothers and daughters to do together! We think think this would make such a sweet gift. It’s telling your daughter you’re excited to grow with her in the Lord this year as, once a month you’ll get together over a fun activity or sweet treat to read through lessons that teach biblical feminine virtues. What could be better?! Get one Volume for 5 months or the whole curriculum that lasts over 12 months.
08. Pip Pop Post earrings are a yearly staple. These are quality, lay fat twist off backings, and hypoallergenic. Plus so many cute styles!
09. Lil Louie Sling by Walker Family Goods this cute little fanny pack comes in SO many colors, but Honey is one of our favorites. You can often find a little mice friend tagging along in one of our daughter’s slings or a travel watercolor set.
